About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement new data center infrastructure optimized for performance, scalability, security, and future growth
Build, manage, and maintain infrastructure in global data centers
Install compute, network, storage, racks, PDUs, cabling, and other equipment
Monitor infrastructure to prevent failures and service degradation
Calculate power usage, power balancing, and power availability in each cabinet
Collaborate with engineers and IT professionals to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Coordinate with remote hands in remote data centers and provide technical direction
Maintain asset inventory in DCIM for production and lab environments
Perform shipping, receiving, and RMA activities
Maintain data center configuration documentation
Set standards for data center operations
Perform regular equipment maintenance, cleaning, inspections, and component replacements
Update and work on assigned tickets and tasks promptly
Follow change management processes and participate in off-hours change windows
Provide 24x7 support as needed
Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, and root cause analysis for platform reliability issues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience with data center technologies, including compute, network, storage, cabling, racks, and PDUs
Strong technical knowledge of networking, servers, storage, and virtualization
Experience with data center design and implementation
Ability to analyze and optimize performance
Project management skills
Knowledge and experience planning cooling, power, and space resources
Linux/Unix system administration skills
Networking and SAN connectivity skills
Experience working with vendors, including quote-purchase, RMA, and support processes
Coding skills to automate repetitive tasks and gather reporting information
Experience supporting a 24x7 customer-facing production environment
Ability to troubleshoot and solve hardware problems independently
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Ability to lift up to 75 lb
Familiarity with Linux and other CLI operating systems
Familiarity with server, storage, and internet technologies
Comfortable using command line interfaces
