About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage, review, and approve regular and off-cycle payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of salaries, benefits, and deductions
- Partner with external payroll service providers and local compliance agencies to ensure seamless operations and resolve escalated issues
- Oversee calculation, deduction, filing, and payment of local payroll taxes and statutory contributions
- Direct and review balance sheet reconciliations, payroll bank account statements, and unreleased payroll
- Review payroll data and ensure accurate journal entries to the General Ledger
- Manage month-end close processes for payroll-related expenses, including accruals, variances, and department allocations
- Guide, train, and mentor Sr. Payroll Analysts and Staff; assign tasks and review work
- Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards
- Serve as primary contact for external and internal payroll-related audits
- Evaluate workflows, lead system upgrades or migrations, and propose automated solutions
- Perform ad hoc tasks as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a CPA
- Amenability to work full onsite for the entire probationary period (6 months)
- Hybrid work arrangement after regularization
- A minimum of 5 years related work experience in payroll processing and general ledger functions, with at least 2 years in leadership or supervisory role
- Experience with computerized accounting systems (preferably NetSuite), timekeeping software, and payroll systems
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and complex logical formulas
- Knowledge of government-mandated payroll regulations (DOLE, BIR, SSS, PHIC, and HDMF) and applicable PEZA requirements
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to perform ad hoc tasks as needed
