About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical authority for electrical testing, inspection, certification and remedial works under the EICR contract
- Report to the Contract Manager with dotted-line responsibility to the Head of Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Provide technical leadership, supervision and competency oversight to Electrical Engineers, Improvers and Site Supervisors
- Manage Site Supervisors, Engineers and Improvers and conduct performance reviews, coaching and mentoring
- Monitor performance against compliance, response, repair and certificate-turnaround SLAs
- Act as the designated Qualified Supervisor under NICEIC requirements and oversee electrical certification
- Conduct site supervision visits, technical audits and post-inspection reviews
- Discharge supplier-side Principal Contractor duties under CDM 2015, including RAMS and daily asbestos checks
- Develop and deliver technical training, toolbox talks and competency workshops
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including Electrical Safety Standards Regulations, Building Safety requirements and Awaab’s Law
- Carry out electrical testing, inspection, installation and maintenance works as required
- Review, verify and approve certification and technical documentation before client issue
- Prepare quotations and variations, liaise with suppliers, order materials and review incomplete jobs
- Investigate and resolve technical escalations, defects, complaints, incidents and non-conformances
- Maintain personal and direct-report CPD records
- Support business improvement and operational, quality and compliance objectives
- Undertake other duties as instructed by line managers or directors
Requirements
What you’ll need- City and Guilds NVQ level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification or equivalent
- AM2 practical assessment
- City and Guilds 2391-51 or equivalent
- City and Guilds 2382-18 – BS7671 18th Edition update
- Detailed working knowledge of BS 7671, Electrical Safety Standards Regulations and EICR processes within residential and social housing environments
- Experience supporting/supervising engineers and maintaining quality standards within an electrical compliance environment
- Strong IT skills, including client portals, mobile workforce systems, certificate-management software, PDF upload with naming conventions and Microsoft 365
- Demonstrable experience operating as a Qualified Supervisor within an NICEIC, NAPIT or equivalent accredited environment
- SMSTS and IOSH Managing Safely, or NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate, desirable
- Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Principal Contractor duties, desirable
