About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain, process, reconcile, upload, and safeguard Soldier medical and dental records
- Receive, scan, and file records into MEDCHART and Soldiers’ hard copy records
- Maintain records in accordance with Army Regulation AR 40-66
- Log and track incoming medical documents and forward them to the Records Custodian or delegate within three business days
- Upload and verify documents in the Health Readiness Record (HRR)
- Perform charting and data entry in eCase, MEDPROS, AHLTA, and DENCLASS
- Reconcile hardcopy and electronic case files for completeness, particularly for Medical Evaluation Boards
- Coordinate record transfers to and from mobilization sites, ensuring records are ready at least 72 hours before mobilization
- Protect sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA and PII requirements
- Support and attend Periodic Health Assessment and Soldier Readiness Process events
- Provide support for weekend soldier readiness events as required
- Travel to mobilization stations such as Fort Bliss, Texas, if required
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Ability to utilize military health databases such as MEDCHART, MEDPROS, eCase, and AHLTA
- Familiarity with Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) policies and Army Regulation AR 40-66
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to complete required Government, installation, information assurance, OPSEC, antiterrorism, iWATCH, CAC, and system-access training within required timelines
- Requires a favorably adjudicated Tier 1 background investigation (or higher) for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must be registered in the Army Training Certification Tracking System (ATCTS)
- Completion of Anti-Terrorism Level 1 Awareness, iWATCH, Information Assurance, and Level 1 Operational Security training within 30 days of hire
- Experience in medical records, health information management, medical administration, case management support, military medical readiness, or comparable healthcare administrative environments is preferred
- Experience handling confidential medical documentation, HIPAA-protected health information, PII, electronic health records, document scanning, records indexing, and records retrieval is preferred
- Experience with DoD, Army National Guard, military medical readiness systems, or Government healthcare environments is preferred but may be obtained through Government-provided system training after assignment
