About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Behavioral Health Clinic through charge entry-billing, state grant data collection and entry, chart review and compliance, reception, and patient scheduling.
  • Review billing encounter forms and use coding knowledge to identify and resolve provider noncompliance issues.
  • Maintain completeness and compliance of medical records at the New Milford Behavioral Health Department.
  • Maintain the patient listing database for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
  • Participate in performance improvement projects related to chart compliance.
  • Perform chart audits to ensure requirements are met.
  • Provide reception and communicate pleasantly and effectively with customers.
  • Answer phones, route calls, take messages, convey information, and ensure accurate communication.
  • Conduct weekly productivity reviews for clinicians.
  • Serve as Catchment Area Council Representative for NMBH grant obligations.
  • Serve as State Local Mental Health Authority Provider Representative for NMBH.
  • Cross-train to provide coverage across the service line as needed.
  • Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Prior third-party insurance billing experience, required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with Thursdays remote.
