  • Develop and maintain web-based applications using PHP and modern web development practices
  • Design and consume RESTful APIs and web services
  • Develop queries and troubleshoot relational database issues
  • Collaborate with the Director of Applications Development, cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and internal clients
  • Troubleshoot application, database, integration, and production issues
  • Develop and maintain technical and system documentation
  • Use source control and established development/deployment processes
  • Balance multiple projects, enhancements, support requests, and competing priorities
  • Evaluate existing applications and recommend modernization, automation, performance, or process improvements
  • Build knowledge of existing applications, tools, frameworks, and emerging technologies
  • Participate in an on-call rotation or provide after-hours support as requested
  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered
  • 4+ years of professional experience developing web-based software applications
  • Strong foundation in object-oriented programming and application development principles
  • Professional experience developing applications with PHP and an MVC framework
  • Strong working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • Experience developing or integrating RESTful APIs and web services
  • Working knowledge of modern frontend development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience using Git or another modern version-control system
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a development team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in an established business environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • A commitment to writing maintainable, secure, well-tested, and well-documented code
  • Professional experience with most of: PHP / Object-Oriented PHP; MVC application architecture and frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, Zend, or comparable frameworks; HTML5 and CSS; JavaScript; SQL and relational databases; RESTful APIs and web services; Git / source control; Composer and PHP dependency management; Linux and/or Windows Server environments; Apache or comparable web server technology; AJAX and asynchronous web development concepts; secure application development practices; authentication and authorization concepts, including OAuth or comparable technologies; application integration and troubleshooting; XML and other common data exchange formats
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment sponsorship
  • Able to reliably work in the Orlando office two days per week
  • Candidates outside the Orlando area must be prepared to relocate at their own expense and meet the in-office requirement within approximately four weeks of accepting an offer
