About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and price lifecycle agreements using cost-per-tonne, take-or-pay, performance bonus and penalty structures, availability commitments, and throughput commitments
- Set multi-year indexing mechanics and term structures that protect FLS margin
- Structure equipment ownership, consignment parts, and inventory models
- Apply deal evaluation and go/no-go frameworks
- Lead commercial proposals, pricing, negotiations, and contract integrity activities
- Work with legal to resolve performance language gaps, KPI cap contradictions, and definition risks
- Align product, service, supply chain, digital, and execution teams before customer commitments
- Test commercial models against operational reality and site conditions
- Hand agreements over to delivery teams with commercial logic, obligations, and risks clearly documented
- Define performance measurement and reporting for agreements
- Maintain a structured commercial pipeline from opportunity through signed agreement
- Report deal status, margin, and commercial risk to leadership with actions and owners
- Maintain commercial templates, pricing tools, estimating tools, cost models, and guidelines
- Develop repeatable equipment-specific commercial packages for core FLS product lines
- Own version control for tools, templates, and guidelines
- Engage regional leadership, sales teams, product owners, mining operators, and regional operations
- Represent FLS in commercial discussions, performance reviews, and customer planning sessions
- Conduct competitive intelligence on rival lifecycle and performance-based offers
- Coach estimators, GBC, and commercial team members on deal structuring, pricing discipline, and go/no-go frameworks
- Build commercial capability across the team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 10 years of experience in mining, industrial services, or capital equipment
- Strong record in commercial deal structuring and negotiation
- Demonstrated experience building and closing multi-year, outcome-based or performance contracts with measurable commercial results
- Experience leading and developing geographically dispersed commercial team members
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Deep understanding of outcome-based commercial models in mining, including cost-per-tonne, take-or-pay, consignment, and bonus/penalty mechanics
- Strong grasp of fixed plant and lifecycle equipment economics, including availability, throughput, wear life, repair, and renewal
- Commercial negotiation and contract construction experience, including working with legal on performance language and risk
- Ability to connect commercial structure to operational delivery
- Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting to senior leaders and customers
- Strong commercial judgment and discipline to walk away from unsuitable deals
- Ability to work across product, service, supply chain, digital, and execution functions
- Ability to travel approximately 30 percent of the time, including internationally to mine sites and customer locations
- Valid driver's license and passport
