About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the introduction and ramp-up of new contract manufacturing sites and production capabilities for NPI programs
- Manage manufacturing readiness with external contract manufacturing partners
- Define production requirements and validate process capability
- Ensure successful transition from prototype to full production
- Collaborate with CM engineering teams to develop and implement robust manufacturing processes
- Oversee equipment and tooling readiness
- Drive issue resolution during pilot and early builds
- Introduce, develop, and establish new contract manufacturing locations and production capabilities
- Execute NPI tasks related to designing and launching new manufacturing capabilities
- Direct CM relationships and monitor progress toward project deliverables
- Coordinate prototype manufacturing, purchasing/logistics, schedules, and budgets
- Create and maintain AME deliverables including PFD, PFMEA, QCP, and manufacturing BOMs
- Participate in design, DFA, and DFM reviews to improve manufacturability
- Liaise between CMs, engineering, and procurement on component packaging requirements
- Develop and track manufacturing KPIs
- Support cost reduction and quality initiatives
- Travel 25–90% depending on production maturity, including possible international travel
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role
- Broad and deep experience within industrial engineering and manufacturing within an OEM and/or Tier I supplier community
- Experience driving automation solutions for metal fabrication and component integration solutions
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with high volume, low-mix production
- Experience in a manufacturing NPI role preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing metrics such as OEE and yield, with experience establishing and tracking KPIs
- Knowledge of quality methods and requirements including APQP or stage gate release processes, ISO9001, TS16949, and global OEM development systems
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent education
- Ability to travel to CM locations with little advanced notice
- Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout employment without employer sponsorship
