About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute preventative maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and safety compliance
  • Lead and mentor maintenance technicians and contractors
  • Manage on-site employees, vendors, contractors, and other resources
  • Collaborate with regional directors on financial planning and maintain budget alignment
  • Identify cost-reduction and efficiency-improvement opportunities
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, inventory, and equipment performance
  • Enforce OSHA and NFPA safety standards
  • Train team members on safe work practices and predictive maintenance tools
  • Maintain current certifications and industry-standard knowledge
  • Perform and oversee preventative and reactive maintenance on BESS equipment and related assets, including SCADA communications, inverters, MV/HV operations, HVAC, and substations
  • Mentor junior team members on complex technical issues
  • Create and schedule work orders and manage direct-report workloads
  • Complete preventative maintenance activities on schedule and notify stakeholders of potential delays
  • Improve procedures to increase safety and reduce cost or schedule impacts
  • Travel 50–80% within the assigned project region
  • Ensure employees use correct charge codes and complete timesheets accurately
  • Verify thorough execution of preventative maintenance tasks
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for project maintenance success
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Generate daily/weekly reports and customer-facing after-action reports
  • Notify stakeholders of reactive work identified through scheduled maintenance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of applicable experience in maintenance
  • 3+ years of experience in a management position
  • Well-organized with strong expertise in Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems and grid storage solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously and drive teams to adhere to schedules
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including presenting ideas clearly to internal and external audiences
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings
  • Ability to follow company QC and testing procedures
  • Either currently hold or be able to immediately obtain OSHA 10, NFPA 70E, and CPR certifications
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with lockout/tagout procedures
  • Current driver’s license with a good DMV record
  • Ability to operate company vehicles on-site and on public roads/highways
  • Ability to physically bend, stoop, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb ladders/steps, and lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout employment without employer sponsorship
  • HVAC and electrical certifications are a plus
