About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead execution of turnkey EPC/core-only battery energy storage projects
- Deliver projects on time, on budget, safely, to code, and to customer satisfaction
- Hold P&L responsibility for projects valued up to $30M+
- Lead teams reviewing engineering designs, project schedules, budgets, people allocation, and safety/quality plans
- Resolve technical issues to maintain quality, schedule, and cost targets
- Coordinate functions to close snags, quality issues, and non-conformances
- Manage relationships with EPC, equipment delivery, and other project partners
- Oversee contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality, schedule, and safety compliance on job sites
- Work with customers, suppliers, partners, sales, and senior management to meet deliverables and contract requirements
- Evaluate construction methods and optimize value-engineering opportunities
- Participate in business improvement projects and document and communicate project plans and changes
- Support negotiations for project contracts with contractors and suppliers
- Review project budgets, revenue, and cash-flow forecasts and propose cost-growth mitigation
- Represent Fluence with customers, regulators, officials, and supply-chain or service partners
- Report to the Head of Projects, UK & Ireland
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in engineering, physics, or another technical discipline
- Combined 10 years’ experience in project management, construction management, or engineering within the power generation market
- Minimum 5 years’ P&L responsibility delivering equipment supply or turn-key projects
- Familiarity with typical codes and standards for electrical equipment
- Experience with turn-key energy infrastructure project construction
- Over one year of experience managing subcontractor contracts
- Experience managing a matrix project organization comprised of 6+ functions
- Valid Senior Project Management certification, such as PMI PgMP or IPMA Level B
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of DS3 Services, EirGrid Grid Code, and Single Electricity Market (SEM) is a plus
- Business-level English language skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
- Experience with an Ireland utility customer is a plus
- Energy Storage market experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Agile mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced start-up technology environment
