About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and elevate user experience across the app used to pilot drones and desktop software used to process flight data
- Participate early in product discovery and map user journeys
- Explore UX approaches using wireframes or vibe-coded prototypes
- Advocate for the ideal user experience before high-fidelity design
- Deliver pixel-perfect mockups and dynamic UI prototypes
- Provide precise specifications for developers
- Create and maintain a global design system from the ground up
- Execute online and field usability tests
- Identify UX hurdles and validate ideas directly with customers
- Partner with Product Managers and Engineers to navigate technical constraints
- Deliver measurable business outcomes without sacrificing user experience
- Establish a strong, unified design culture as the first dedicated design hire
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of product design experience, including senior or lead-level ownership of a product's UX/UI
- Ideally experience in a B2B, SaaS, or hardware-adjacent software context
- Portfolio showing early-stage UX exploration through final, developer-ready UI
- Hands-on experience building a scalable design system from scratch across multiple products or platforms
- Experience planning and running moderated/remote and in-person or field usability tests
- Ability to translate usability findings into design decisions
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills
- Ability to explain design rationale to engineers and product managers
- Ability to work autonomously as the first design hire
