About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build and qualify production calibration benches for cameras, IMUs and lidars
  • Define and run sensor validation test plans, including characterization, temperature, shock and vibration tests
  • Analyze flight-test data
  • Own calibration procedures and acceptance criteria for intrinsic, extrinsic, IMU and camera-IMU calibration, including uncertainty estimation
  • Serve as the team's reference on inertial sensors, including IMU selection, error modeling, vibration isolation and mounting
  • Integrate sensors mechanically with the mechanical team, including mounting, alignment, thermal behavior, sealing and field of view
  • Transfer calibration and end-of-line tests to manufacturing
  • Analyze production data to maintain process control
  • Build calibration benches and test procedures that are repeatable in production

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Robotics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in sensor test, calibration, metrology or system validation, including at least one calibration or test bench delivered into production
  • Hands-on experience designing test setups and fixtures for electromechanical systems and running environmental tests (temperature, shock, vibration)
  • Experience with inertial sensors: IMU characterization, Allan variance, error modeling, vibration isolation
  • Experience with camera or lidar calibration (intrinsic, extrinsic, camera-IMU) and associated targets and tooling
  • Proficiency in Python for data acquisition, analysis and test automation
  • Comfortable with lab instrumentation and automated measurement
  • Experience with drones, robotics or aerospace platforms; flight-test or field data analysis is a strong asset
  • Able to work autonomously on a topic where you are the reference, and document and hand over procedures to production
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • French or additional languages are an asset
  • Some Rust is a plus
  • Basic PCB design in KiCad or component qualification with suppliers are a plus
