About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist patent attorneys, patent agents, and technology specialists with preparing and filing compliant U.S. patent prosecution documents
- Prepare filing documents for attorney or patent agent review and signature
- Proofread filing documents before attorney review
- Review assigned attorney dockets and proactively prepare formality documents for timely filing
- Prepare office action response shells with rejection and objection subheadings and the current claim set
- Manage client reporting workflows and ensure timely completion
- Liaise with the foreign filing team and prior art management team
- Order formal drawings and sequence listings from vendors
- Assist with virtual file upkeep and maintenance
- Perform general office administrative functions as necessary
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of related U.S. patent filing experience
- Strong attention to detail and work organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent computer skills
- Established user of Word and Excel
- Knowledge of patent-specific systems preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience
- Availability and willingness to work overtime when necessary
- Must reside in AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, or VT
