About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process accurate and timely end-to-end payroll for assigned stores
- Manage rosters in PayGlobal
- Maintain payroll records, employee changes and leave balances
- Prepare payroll and PAYE reports
- Support annual audit activity
- Respond to store queries
- Apply relevant payroll legislation
- Escalate complex system or technical matters when appropriate
- Provide cover across other stores
- Support process improvements, system changes and store ownership transitions
- Build trusted relationships with store owners and payroll contacts
- Deliver accurate, compliant payroll services and practical support across Foodstuffs North Island and its member network
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least three years’ experience as a payroll administrator or in a similar payroll role
- Good understanding of the New Zealand Holidays Act, employment legislation and payroll practices, including PAYE, ACC and parental leave
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- PayGlobal or SAP experience would be advantageous
- Payroll system configuration knowledge would be advantageous
- Adaptability to learn and grow
