About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned restaurants
- Collaborate with restaurant managers and franchisees to develop the capabilities needed to achieve results
- Conduct audits and inspections to verify compliance with brand standards
- Develop action plans with managers and franchisees to improve operational performance
- Oversee regional sales, performance, customer experience scores, food safety, and associate engagement
- Conduct targeted, high-quality restaurant visits
- Lead operational reviews and assessments in accordance with the brand’s annual plans
- Evaluate brand standards, front-of-house operations, back-of-house operations, security and safety, employee relations, and food sanitation
- Observe, evaluate, and rate restaurants based on established audits
- Coach, educate, and motivate employees, managers, and franchisees to change their behaviors
- Communicate brand standards and available resources
- Identify gaps, opportunities, and root causes of operational and customer satisfaction issues
- Report and resolve issues identified during audits and report on trends
- Act as the liaison between managers, franchisees, and the brand’s leadership team
- Prepare for audits by reviewing financial performance, previous audits, and action plans
- Lead all aspects of new restaurant openings and ensure they achieve their business objectives
- Visit restaurants according to the frequency required by the segmentation model
- Coach and develop employees and monitor their individual development plans
- Provide feedback and strengthen employees’ leadership capabilities
- Ensure the recruitment, development, and retention of regional associates
- Establish business and financial objectives with managers and franchisees
- Recommend improvements to increase comparable restaurant sales or reduce costs
- Identify best practices to improve profitability
- Provide a quarterly update on regional business activities
- Ensure compliance with employment standards, human rights, health, and safety requirements
- Ensure the implementation of and compliance with food safety programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5 years of experience as a Regional Operations Manager (ROM) is required; multi-unit experience is preferred
- Postsecondary education
- Bilingual in spoken and written French and English
- Experience in operations is an asset
