About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support PPAP efforts to ensure vendors ship conforming products to Form Factory 1
  • Collaborate with design engineering, supplier industrialization engineering, supply chain, and product quality teams
  • Establish incoming/outgoing quality standards and metrics for manufacturing partners
  • Assist in developing raw material specifications
  • Work with the NPI team to define and manage quality control and acceptance test procedures
  • Lead failure and root cause analysis efforts
  • Assist in developing supplier quality documentation
  • Drive a Zero Defect mentality within the supply base
  • Monitor and measure supplier performance related to quality nonconformance
  • Work with suppliers on the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Work cross-functionally with Design and Reliability engineering teams to understand system-level requirements and analyze component-level performance
  • Lead supplier audit activities to ensure products are manufactured and shipped according to specifications
  • Report to the Sr. Manager of Supplier Quality

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years experience in quality, manufacturing, or production development
  • Knowledge of quality standards, approval processes, and manufacturing/process improvement methodologies
  • Understanding of SPC, Cpk, Gage R&Rs, PPAPs, and process qualification methodologies
  • Experience with supplier development, management, and auditing with global suppliers
  • Experience with industry quality standards such as ISO9001, IATF16949, and AS91000
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must answer whether visa sponsorship is needed
