About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide members with an exceptional experience while efficiently processing member services
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier’s checks, money orders, cash advances, transfers, and other routine transactions
  • Verify check endorsement and negotiability according to credit union guidelines
  • Sell money orders, gift cards, and cashier’s checks
  • Redeem savings bonds and process wire transfers and stop payments
  • Educate members about credit union products, services, accounts, rates, mobile and online banking, ATMs, and shared branching
  • Maintain and balance the cash drawer, resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with members, team members, and management
  • Resolve member requests and questions promptly
  • Complete account maintenance requests, reports, and records accurately
  • Refer cross-sell opportunities to Member Advisors
  • Attend required meetings, training, and committees
  • Participate in community and civic programs
  • Perform drive-up teller and night drop functions
  • Work at any required credit union location, including extended hours, holidays, and Saturdays
  • Maintain a clean, secure, and well-maintained work area
  • Perform other duties assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • At least six months of experience in cash handling, customer service, or retail sales
  • Basic understanding of Credit Union operations
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred
  • Good interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Professional appearance, dress, and attitude
  • Good math skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to operate a PC, related software, and standard business equipment
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a professional image
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Must comply with applicable regulations, including OFAC, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Act, and USA Patriot compliance
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
