About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Professional Services engagements for data warehouse and lakehouse design, build, and modernization on Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure data services, from discovery through delivery
  • Design target-state data architectures, including dimensional and medallion data models, ingestion and transformation patterns, and data governance approaches
  • Lead migrations of legacy data warehouses and reporting environments such as SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and Oracle to modern platforms, owning migration approach, risk plan, and cutover
  • Lead technical discovery with Account Executives, qualify opportunities, and present recommendations to client technical and business leaders
  • Own technical scoping, solution design, and effort estimates for proposals and statements of work
  • Serve as escalation point for complex data platform issues
  • Set performance and cost optimization practices, including workload sizing, query tuning, and cost governance
  • Mentor consultants and DBAs and review their technical work
  • Help build the data platform practice through reference architectures, delivery accelerators, and repeatable offerings
  • Advise clients on AI readiness, data quality, governance, and platform fit
  • Identify expansion opportunities and partner with account teams and Managed Services on client support
  • Contribute to thought leadership through blog posts, webinars, and case studies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Eight or more years in data engineering, data warehousing, or database architecture, including at least three years delivering cloud data platform projects
  • Led end-to-end delivery of data warehouse or lakehouse implementations on Databricks or Snowflake, with working knowledge of the other or Microsoft Fabric
  • Deep expertise in data modeling for analytics, including dimensional modeling
  • Expert SQL skills and strong Python or PySpark skills
  • Experience migrating legacy data warehouses or ETL processes to cloud data platforms
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure data services
  • Client-facing consulting experience, including leading discovery, scoping work, and presenting recommendations to technical and business leaders
  • Experience mentoring or guiding other engineers on technical delivery
  • Professional-level Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric certification preferred
  • Experience in a consulting firm or managed services provider preferred
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Fabric Data Factory, or dbt preferred
  • Experience with Unity Catalog or Microsoft Purview preferred
  • Experience supporting AI and machine learning workloads on modern data platforms preferred
  • Experience with AWS or Google Cloud data services preferred
  • Experience contributing to thought leadership preferred
  • Eligible candidates must provide evidence of legal working status for any employer in the U.S.
