About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Implement and maintain software powering the TLS stack and UTM feature set
Stay current on application-layer protocols and software practices and suggest team improvements
Promote and uphold coding and design best practices
Provide product improvement suggestions based on hands-on use of Fortinet products
Research and define new technology areas to enhance current or future products
Re-evaluate the design and implementation of existing code as needed
Develop FortiGate firewall features including Anti-Virus, Web Filter, Data Leak Prevention, and Anti-Spam

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in C/C++/Golang/Rust development
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience developing software in Linux or UNIX-like environments
Knowledge of TLS, TCP/IP, POSIX APIs, and socket programming
Familiarity with source control systems such as Git
Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and methodologies
Understanding of networking and security concepts, especially in TLS stack
Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl
Basic understanding of Linux/UNIX server or system management
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
