About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide support and training for products and services centered around Job Order Contracting (JOC)
- Prepare and maintain schedules of detailed activities to accomplish client procurement objectives
- Implement project procedures from project identification through scope development, proposal review, contract compliance, notice to proceed, and construction execution
- Read and understand construction plans and specifications
- Conduct comprehensive price proposal reviews and create and review detailed construction line-item proposals
- Train contractors in Gordian software and client procedures
- Assist in client contract bidding
- Communicate with clients and internal team members to complete projects on time and on budget
- Manage multiple accounts and develop positive customer relationships
- Drive client retention, renewals, upsells, and satisfaction
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Account Managers, Finance, Sales, Business Operations, and cross-functional teams
- Troubleshoot operational processes and provide software training to client and contractor staff
- Determine customer success and failure root causes and drive process enhancements
- Maintain customer service levels, operational excellence, and strategic insight
- Collaborate with construction management firms to develop standards and procedures
- Assist with billing setup and invoicing
- Participate in budget development, management, and revenue forecasting
- Develop annual program usage and benchmark reports
- Monitor construction and project activities to ensure client needs, schedules, and budgets are met
- Review contractor change requests and initiate job order supplementals when appropriate
- Interact with owner representatives, contractors, and facility end-users
- Review contractors’ daily inspection reports and report weekly construction progress to upper management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field, or comparable work experience
- 5+ years of construction procurement, construction management, project management, or general contracting related experience in both facilities and road construction preferred
- Extensive knowledge and experience in public construction operations, pricing and contracting, including scope development and estimating/price proposal development
- High level analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to effectively manage several projects simultaneously in development and in the field during construction
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and team building skills
- Flexibility, strategic thinking, problem solving skills, goal driven, client obsessed, ability to deliver results
- Ability to meet client and corporate deadlines
- Time management skills
- Self-motivated; works well independently and in a group dynamic
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerBi
- Ability to develop and generate custom tracking documents and reports
- Background in construction documentation and administration preferred, but not required
- Job Order Contracting or IDIQ experience preferred, but not required
- Comprehensive understanding of various public procurement and project delivery methods and requirements
- Travel 50-70% within assigned geographic area (WA and OR)
