Lead multiple teams and tech leads, setting organizational goals, structure and operating cadence
Own combined delivery, quality and reliability outcomes
Set multi-year technical vision and architecture direction
Establish architecture governance, design reviews and engineering standards
Represent engineering to senior and executive leadership
Drive organization-wide engineering excellence across quality, security, reliability, cost efficiency and developer experience
Lead complex cross-team and cross-region programs and resolve escalations
Own commitments and delivery outcomes
Define technical strategy and roadmap for the .NET back end and React front end
Translate product and business goals into technical deliverables and execution plans
Mentor and coach team members
Monitor delivery and service-health metrics and take corrective action
Partner with Product Management on roadmaps, initiatives and expectations
Lead collaboration across engineering, product, project management, DevOps, QA, security and mobile teams
Own API contracts, versioning and backward compatibility
Own release management and CI/CD practices, including safe deployments, feature flags and rollback strategies
Drive observability and operational excellence, including logging, monitoring, alerting, SLOs, incident management, postmortems and root-cause analysis
Improve engineering processes and adoption of code review, testing, accessibility and performance standards
Ensure security, privacy and regulatory compliance throughout the development lifecycle
Conduct 1-on-1s, manage performance, and plan team capacity

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
Minimum of 11 years of hands-on experience in full stack development using .NET and React.js
4+ years of experience leading engineering teams
At least 2+ years managing managers or multiple teams
Track record of hiring and developing leaders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills
Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
Experience developing APIs using Microsoft .NET C#, ASP.NET MVC and .NET Core / modern .NET
Expertise in Entity Framework and LINQ
Proficiency with React.js and TypeScript
Experience with SQL Server, including performance tuning and query optimization
Understanding of the SDLC and familiarity with JIRA, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of REST API design, microservices and event-driven systems
Proficiency in unit testing and test automation frameworks
Knowledge of application security best practices, authentication/authorization, OAuth/SSO and OWASP
Preferred: experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
Preferred: experience with Azure Functions, Service Bus, Storage Accounts and App Services
Preferred: experience with MongoDB
Preferred: familiarity with the Elastic Stack
Preferred: exposure to containers and Kubernetes
Preferred: experience with TeamCity, Jenkins or GitHub Actions
