About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare company laptops for IT provider provisioning
- Coordinate technology setup for new hires, including laptops, monitors, peripherals, software, system access, and other required equipment
- Support employee offboarding by coordinating removal of systems access and collection, inventory, and preparation of returned equipment
- Set up, modify, and deactivate employee access to company systems and applications
- Issue, activate, deactivate, and maintain Datawatch building access cards
- Provide hands-on Tier 1 technical support for hardware, software, connectivity, and access issues
- Troubleshoot laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, peripherals, and office technology
- Troubleshoot conference room technology and support meetings as needed
- Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison with the outsourced IT provider
- Submit, monitor, update, and follow up on support tickets
- Escalate technical issues and coordinate through resolution
- Maintain accurate records of company IT assets and track assignments, returns, replacements, and inventory
- Assist with ordering, receiving, organizing, and deploying IT equipment and supplies
- Perform routine checks of printers, conference rooms, and shared office technology
- Document troubleshooting procedures, equipment configurations, and recurring IT processes
- Assist with other technology and office systems projects as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, technical support, or a similar hands-on technology role preferred
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows-based laptops and common business applications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and common workplace technology
- Experience troubleshooting printers, peripherals, audiovisual equipment, and conference room technology
- Experience working with an IT help desk or ticketing system
- Ability to diagnose basic technical issues independently and determine when escalation is appropriate
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing equipment, user access, and multiple open support requests
- Strong customer-service and communication skills with the ability to support employees with varying levels of technical proficiency
- Ability to handle confidential information and systems access responsibly
- Ability to prioritize competing requests and follow issues through to resolution
- Comfortable working independently while coordinating closely with an outsourced IT provider
- Ability to move, set up, and connect laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, and other office technology
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry IT equipment weighing up to approximately 30 pounds
- Regular movement throughout the office may be required to provide employee and conference room support
