About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of human anatomy
  • Assist radiologists, physicians, and healthcare professionals in diagnosing diseases and disorders
  • Assist in training students and technologists
  • Perform injection procedures and venous punctures while administering contrast media
  • Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms
  • Collaborate with physicians to determine protocols and procedures for patient medical issues
  • Complete CT exams and procedures and obtain optimal images for physician interpretation
  • Process and evaluate images according to policy and protocol
  • Confirm patient identity and obtain and record identification, medical history, or test results
  • Review and update patient documentation in EMR and PACS
  • Practice safety guidelines and use ALARA radiation reduction tools and techniques
  • Ensure patients understand procedures and are comfortable during procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree - Preferred
  • Certificate - Required
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • Radiography (ARRT-R) - Required within 180 days
  • Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) - Required within 1 year
  • 2 years Radiology Experience - Preferred
  • Ability to perform venous punctures and administer contrast media
  • Knowledge of universal precautions and ALARA radiation reduction techniques
  • Travel is required: Never or Rarely
