Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of human anatomy
  • Assist radiologists, physicians, and healthcare professionals in diagnosing diseases and disorders
  • Assist in training students and technologists
  • Perform injection procedures
  • Maintain timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during duties
  • Work closely with patients to explain procedures and ensure comfort
  • Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms
  • Collaborate with physicians to determine protocols and procedures
  • Complete CT exams and procedures and obtain optimal images for physician interpretation
  • Process and evaluate images according to policy and protocol
  • Confirm patient identity and obtain and record identification, medical history, or test results
  • Review and update patient documentation in EMR and PACS
  • Perform venous punctures using universal precautions while administering contrast media
  • Practice safety guidelines and use ALARA radiation reduction tools and techniques

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Preferred Associate's Degree in Radiology
  • Required Certificate in Radiology
  • 2 years Radiology preferred
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • Radiography (ARRT-R) - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Indiana within 180 days
  • Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 year
  • Travel required up to 20%
