About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of human anatomy
- Assist radiologists, physicians, and healthcare professionals in diagnosing diseases and disorders
- Assist in training students and technologists
- Perform injection procedures
- Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms
- Collaborate with physicians to determine patient protocols and procedures
- Complete CT examinations and procedures and obtain optimal images for physician interpretation
- Process and evaluate images according to policy and protocol
- Confirm patient identity and obtain and record identification, medical history, or test results
- Review and update patient documentation in EMR and PACS
- Perform venous punctures using universal precautions while administering contrast media
- Follow safety guidelines and use ALARA radiation reduction tools and techniques
- Ensure patients understand procedures and remain comfortable during procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Preferred Associate's Degree in Radiology
- Required Certificate in Radiology
- 2 years Radiology preferred
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Radiography (ARRT-R) certification - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Indiana within 180 days
- Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) certification - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 year
- Travel required up to 20%
