About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, maintain, and optimize backend applications using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework
Design and manage PostgreSQL databases, including efficient data structures, indexing, and query optimization
Build and maintain RESTful APIs for application functionality and system integrations
Analyze and improve database performance, scalability, and overall system efficiency
Implement and maintain logging and monitoring solutions using the ELK Stack
Containerize applications and maintain consistent development environments with Docker
Support application deployment and infrastructure-related tasks using AWS services
Apply encryption, authentication, and security best practices
Implement and optimize caching and data management solutions using Redis
Troubleshoot backend issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement technical solutions
Collaborate with technical teams to maintain code quality, reliability, and application performance

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong professional experience in backend development, preferably at a senior level
Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
Strong hands-on experience with Django and Django REST Framework (DRF)
Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning
Experience using the ELK Stack for application logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Practical experience with Docker and containerized applications
Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud environments
Understanding of encryption techniques, authentication methods, and backend security practices
Experience with Redis for caching or data management
Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills
Ability to solve complex technical problems
Ability to work independently, manage technical priorities, and contribute to scalable backend solutions
Monday to Friday availability, 6:00am to 2:00pm EST
Experience with Celery for asynchronous task processing and background jobs (nice to have)
Familiarity with WebSockets for real-time communication and application functionality (nice to have)
