About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Supply Chain activities for nine North American Marketing Unit and Production Unit locations across Fresenius Kabi and Fenwal Importer of Records
- Ensure import regulations are met within operations by adhering to formal control procedures and training
- Monitor and audit external customs brokerage partners
- Manage the Import operational Inbox and service levels
- Review shipment documentation and provide compliance instructions and approvals
- Assist with obtaining import permits, including USDA and DEA permits
- Liaise with customs brokers regarding import documentation and declarations
- Maintain Trade Master Data Management and Brokerage Parts Databases
- Classify products and manage customs, FDA, USDA, DEA, EPA, HTS, ECCN, COO, FDA Affirmation of Compliance, and PGA declarations
- Manage import entry record keeping and archives
- Project-manage high-profile US import launches with Demand Planning and Third-Party Manufacturing departments
- Escalate and support reviews of US agency regulatory inquiries
- Process monthly cost allocations for customs duties and fees; identify anomalies and savings opportunities
- Analyze import brokerage and transportation networks for efficiency, capacity, service, and cost optimization
- Develop cost and value tracking metrics and prepare management presentations
- Support the Supply Chain Security Program (C-TPAT)
- Support regulatory change reviews and project management
- Perform internal and external import audits
- Support internal procedures and conduct import training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of related experience required
- Knowledge of customs, FDA, and DEA regulations and processes
- Knowledge of FDA ACE import coding requirements required
- Experience with US import regulations operations
- Understanding of supply chain concepts as they relate to importing goods
- High affinity to IT-based solutions and applications, particularly SAP and Microsoft Office
- Pharmaceutical and medical device experience preferred
- Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future
