About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage deployment of finished goods from Del Monte production facilities to forward distribution centers
- Execute distribution plans using SAP planning tools and create optimal-mode product transfers
- Manage annual budget goals and distribution-center inventories to target weeks of supply
- Mitigate inventory shortfalls and surpluses, including order tracing and expedited shipment management
- Collaborate with Transportation, Warehousing, Plant Operations, Customer Service, Sales, Demand Planning, and Supply Planning
- Maintain AOP planning parameters and master data to improve planning systems
- Drive development, optimization, and implementation of advanced planning techniques within SAP APO
- Communicate recovery dates and product availability to Sales, Customer Service, management, and other stakeholders
- Identify when sub-optimal transportation modes and incremental costs are necessary
- Communicate delays or changes to management to align priorities
- Proactively manage DC inventory and resolve potential shortages
- Identify root causes and resolve customer satisfaction, production, and logistics issues
- Optimize inventory targets and manage aged or stranded inventory in the DC network
- Support discontinuation processes and component-inventory run-out plans
- Participate in new product launches, seasonal promotions, process improvements, and label, packaging, and configuration changes
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or Logistics Management (or other related discipline)
- 1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Deployment, Production Planning, or other related experience
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced and highly visible environment
- Demonstrated initiative and follow-up skills
- Ability to handle simultaneous responsibilities and deadlines with minimal guidance
- Aptitude for technology, including ability to drive analytics and reporting via Microsoft Excel
- Experience using SAP ECC/APO or similar system a plus
- Sound understanding of Lean Principles
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships
- Strong verbal, written and comprehension communication skills
- Talent for data mining and analysis
- Demonstrated desire to learn and apply new concepts and software
- APICS certification preferred
- Experience in a CPG food and beverage atmosphere preferred
- Position does not qualify for relocation expenses
