About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee the coordination of Tricont Logistics freight to ensure seamless operations
Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers
Dispatch company-controlled freight and support sales and commodity group managers
Negotiate rates with carriers/brokers for expedited loads, re-routes, and new lanes
Meet or exceed corporate pricing rate expectations
Maintain billing and dispatch accuracy of 98% or greater
Coordinate between carriers, drivers, dispatch, and sales
Post freight on load boards and contact carriers/brokers to book loads
Confirm and verify rates through the load tendering process
Verify carrier setup and compliance with Del Monte carrier/broker standards
Follow company policies and procedures
Manage demurrage, detention, layover, and other accessorial costs
Resolve driver, carrier, and broker issues
Update and track carrier/driver location information and report issues
Back up other dispatch positions
Assist the Manager or Director, Logistics Services with leadership duties and reports when instructed
Maintain on-time pickup and delivery performance of 98% or better
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Work hours: 50+ hours per week as needed (Sat–Wed)
After Hours: 9pm–6am
High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
3–6 years of transportation and 3rd party dispatch experience in sourcing and developing carriers and routing
Ability to work independently
Strong communication and customer service skills
Negotiation skills
Problem solving/investigation skills
Ability to coordinate high-volume phone activity
Computer experience with Microsoft products such as Excel and email
Accurate typing skills
Transportation experience preferred
Data entry and high-volume phone skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to resolve conflicts
Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects
MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Position does not qualify for relocation expenses
