About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead creation and development of innovative product concepts and design solutions
- Define and communicate design vision and strategy aligned with company goals and market trends
- Conduct user research, gather insights, and apply user-centered design principles
- Develop prototypes and mockups for usability testing and iterate designs based on feedback
- Collaborate with human factors, software development, product management, clinical engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and other stakeholders
- Prepare design specifications, Figma files, renderings, presentations, and engineering-transfer documentation
- Create and manage the Fujifilm Sonosite design system
- Mentor junior designers and guide design best practices, tools, and processes
- Establish and manage design timelines, resources, and deliverables
- Deliver designs meeting user needs, business needs, technical feasibility, and quality standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial design, graphic design, or visual design
- 8–10 years of design experience
- Track record of leading design projects and delivering successful products
- Robust portfolio showcasing product designs from concept through production
- Experience collaborating with software, clinical engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders in a product development environment
- Experience managing or leading design projects and mentoring junior designers
- Ability to solve complex design challenges within budget, material, and regulatory constraints
- Experience presenting designs and concepts to stakeholders or management and incorporating feedback
- Deep understanding of design fundamentals, including form, function, usability, ergonomics, and aesthetics
- Proficiency with Figma or similar computer-aided design tools
- Familiarity with digital prototyping methods
- Understanding of the full product development process from ideation to production
- Strong skills in sketching, rendering, and creating visual presentations
- Strong understanding of the Design Thinking process
- Experience designing solutions in the medical device field
- Ability to lift 25 lbs with or without accommodations
