About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own financial operations end to end, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and effective controls
Run accounts payable, including supplier queries, payment runs and supplier statement reconciliations
Manage company card expenses, employee expense claims and VAT returns
Maintain policy compliance, coding accuracy and deadlines
Support month-end close by preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
Support the Financial Controller in resolving variances before reporting to leadership
Identify and implement automation and system improvements
Maintain process documentation and controls
Support audit and year-end requests

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals
Ideally qualified or part-qualified (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA or AAT) or equivalent hands-on experience
Proven experience of month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
Clear understanding of the end-to-end accounts payable process
Keen attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies
Openness to automation and improving processes
Experience with cloud accounting and AP automation tools such as Xero, NetSuite or Dext is advantageous
Experience in e-commerce, FMCG or consumer brand businesses is advantageous
Experience in a fast-growing scale-up is advantageous
