About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Implement data strategies enabling comprehensive customer data management, improved decision-making, quicker insights, and compliance with privacy needs
Reharmonize, standardize, and streamline enterprise customer data
Own the business data layer in partnership with data governance, data product management, and marketing data teams
Drive the data integration plan with internal stakeholders, vendors, partners, and third-party teams
Implement active data stewardship processes, including metadata management and oversight of data processes and flows
Collaborate with the team to ideate and prototype new data opportunities
Ensure the quality of the core data set and improve it each sprint
Lead business engagement and agreement on business-wide data standards
Own data enrichment and maintenance investments
Drive data warehouse and business intelligence investment strategy
Advocate for new ways to use data for differentiated, dynamic, cross-channel customer touch points
Serve as internal expert on customer data security and privacy policies and practices
Lead data-related acquisition and divestiture activities
Build and maintain a strong technical team through recruiting, training, coaching, team building, and succession planning
Report to the Sr. Director of Customer Data Engineering

Requirements

What you’ll need

Relevant technology professional experience in Technology, with a concentration in Customer Data Management & Marketing Technology integration
Strong experience in managing customer data for fashion retailers
Strong experience in data engineering, data platforms, data strategy consulting, or equivalent data management experience
Experience in operationalizing data privacy, compliance and governance initiatives
Experience with cloud-based platforms like Azure/GCP/AWS and related data stacks, including data products, data marts, and universal semantic layers
Experience working across global teams spanning multiple time zones and geographies
Ability to collaborate effectively with functional partners to gather information and participate as a cross-functional partner
Experience operating in a fast-paced environment driven by senior leadership requests and evolving business needs
Ability to manage workload with limited guidance and prioritize work independently
Retail experience is required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
