Dive Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage Garney’s commercial diving safety program and ensure compliance with applicable ADCI, OSHA, company, and project requirements
- Maintain consistent dive planning, emergency response, and safe work practices across diving operations
- Support incident reviews and improve diving safety and operating procedures
- Provide technical and operational support for diving activities across Garney projects
- Assist with manpower planning and allocation of diving resources based on project needs
- Support preconstruction and business development efforts requiring commercial diving expertise
- Support recruitment, development, and retention of qualified diving personnel
- Maintain training and certification requirements and develop consistent expectations for divers and dive supervisors
- Develop future supervisors and leaders in alignment with Garney’s employee-owner culture and Goals & Philosophies
- Oversee diving equipment standards, inspections, maintenance, certifications, and replacement needs
- Evaluate equipment and technology that improve safety, reliability, and productivity
- Develop and maintain consistent standards and procedures for commercial diving operations
- Initially manage a team of 10+ commercial divers and support personnel
- Serve as Garney Marine’s subject matter expert for commercial diving operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- ADCI Dive Supervisor Certification
- 10+ years of commercial diving experience
- 5+ years of dive supervisory or management experience
- Strong underwater construction experience
- Knowledge of ADCI standards, OSHA Subpart T, and commercial diving practices
- Preferred: OSHA 30 certification
- Preferred: Marine, heavy civil, pipeline, or intake/outfall construction experience
- Preferred: Experience managing multiple dive crews and projects
- Background screening and drug-free workplace requirements
- May be required to complete a post-offer physical and site-specific background check
