About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute internal communications strategies supporting business priorities, organizational goals, and employee engagement
- Oversee internal communication channels, including GarneyOne
- Create communication plans for company initiatives, organizational changes, leadership announcements, and business updates
- Partner with leaders and departments to provide communication guidance, messaging support, and strategic counsel
- Lead executive communication efforts to enhance leadership visibility, transparency, and organizational alignment
- Develop communications reinforcing Garney’s culture, values, employee ownership mindset, and connection across teams
- Collaborate with marketing, creative, and external communications teams for consistent messaging and brand alignment
- Measure communication effectiveness through analytics and employee feedback and identify improvement opportunities
- Manage and mentor internal communications team members
- Ensure high-quality, impactful communications across the organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in communications, internal communications, or a related field
- Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and communication skills
- Experience developing and executing strategic communications plans
- Knowledge of internal communications, employee engagement, and organizational change best practices
- Experience managing internal communications programs, company intranets, and communication channels
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with executive leadership and employees across the organization
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience leading, managing, and developing team members
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and internal communications platforms
- Experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry
- Experience using analytics and employee feedback to measure communication effectiveness and drive improvements
- Must complete background screening; post-offer physical and site-specific background check may be required
