About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Champion jobsite safety and promote a strong safety culture
- Supervise and coordinate employee activities
- Follow project plans and schedules to ensure crews meet production goals
- Translate general work requirements into a prioritized work plan for the crew
- Inspect equipment to ensure proper working condition
- Assist with expense control
- Maintain employee time reports
- Prepare reports as needed
- Understand line and grade, shoot grade with a level, and set up a pipe laser
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment
- Knowledge of pipe installation for water, stormwater, and sewer systems
- Experience in civil construction
- Prior training in trench safety and rigging/signaling
- Experience with ductile iron, steel, PVC, and HDPE pipe
- Must be willing to work overtime and travel as required
- Ability to manage time, work as part of a team, and adhere to Garney's safety policies and procedures
- Ability to understand line and grade, shoot grade with a level, and set up a pipe laser
