About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead high-impact consulting engagements for Texas state agencies, local governments, and public sector organizations
  • Partner with agency executives, CIOs, business leaders, and transformation teams
  • Direct Gartner consultants and subject matter experts to execute statements of work
  • Lead engagements from project kickoff through successful completion
  • Manage project scope, quality, risks, financial performance, and client satisfaction
  • Design and deliver engagements using approved AI tools
  • Guide teams in developing actionable recommendations and executive-level deliverables
  • Build long-term client relationships and ensure tangible, sustainable results
  • Identify opportunities addressing emerging client challenges
  • Support proposal development, client meetings, conferences, and sales presentations
  • Create discussion documents, scoping documents, and formal proposal responses
  • Collaborate with Managing Partners and Gartner team members
  • Contribute to consulting offerings and thought leadership
  • Mentor consultants and project managers
  • Foster collaboration and high performance across consulting teams
  • Share best practices and lessons learned
  • Contribute to recruitment and talent development efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in IT consulting, government transformation, technology strategy, or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-tools to efficiently produce accurate and quality analysis and insights
  • Previous experience serving state government, local government, higher education, or public sector organizations
  • Project Management experience
  • Strong problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Austin-based
  • MBA/MPA or other advanced degree preferred
  • PMP or other equivalent certifications preferred
  • Sales experience and/or experience managing executive-level client relationships preferred
  • Prior system implementation experience preferred
