Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create must-have insights for clients through published research and client interactions
  • Meet clients daily by phone, videoconference, at Gartner events, or during sales-support visits
  • Equip semiconductor memory industry leaders with insights, advice, and tools
  • Own the quantitative and market-intelligence view of global foundry and advanced-packaging capacity, technology transitions, and economics
  • Translate manufacturing constraints into implications for semiconductor supply and competitive strategy
  • Develop and maintain forecasts for global foundry capacity, wafer demand, utilization, revenue, and market share
  • Track leading-edge and mature-node capacity across major foundry suppliers
  • Analyze process-node migration, fab expansions, capex, utilization, pricing, and customer allocation
  • Maintain market intelligence on advanced packaging technologies and suppliers
  • Quantify packaging capacity, throughput, utilization, supplier share, and technology migration
  • Track interactions among foundry, HBM, substrates, OSAT/test, and advanced-packaging constraints
  • Analyze how AI accelerators, custom ASICs, CPUs, GPUs, and other high-performance devices drive wafer and packaging demand
  • Monitor customer/supplier relationships, capacity commitments, geographic expansion, and localization strategies
  • Maintain quarterly trackers, forecasts, supplier databases, and scenario models
  • Identify capacity bottlenecks and assess implications for availability, pricing, and competitive positioning
  • Support client inquiries and produce differentiated research for senior market-intelligence and strategy audiences
  • Collaborate with analysts covering AI accelerators, memory, semiconductor equipment, interconnect, and infrastructure economics
  • Participate in Gartner global research communities and knowledge-sharing sessions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BE/BTech from Grade A engineering colleges, specializing in Electronics, Semiconductors, or Software Engineering
  • Graduate + MBA in Marketing or Operations from leading A and B-schools is desirable
  • 10-12+ years of experience in semiconductor foundry, advanced packaging, manufacturing strategy, market intelligence, product planning, or industry research
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor process technology, capacity planning, and advanced packaging
  • Understanding of foundry economics, yield, utilization, node migration, and customer allocation
  • Experience building quantitative market models and forecasts
  • Familiarity with TSMC, Samsung, Intel Foundry, GlobalFoundries, UMC, SMIC, ASE, Amkor, and other major ecosystem participants
  • Ability to connect manufacturing detail with market, competitive, and financial implications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to challenge prevailing industry assumptions using evidence and quantitative analysis
  • Awareness of major issues across the IT, technology, semiconductor, and electronics industries
  • Ability to design, develop, and maintain large Excel models for market share analysis and forecasting
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage time, keep projects on schedule, resolve issues, and deliver client deliverables timely
  • Strong writing ability, including stating positions, justifying them with facts, and providing actionable analysis and recommendations
  • Ability to explain complex concepts concisely by telephone, face-to-face, and on stage
  • Strong analytical, creative, independent, and efficient problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated critical-thinking capabilities, including estimation problems and original analysis
  • Ability to build professional relationships with analysts, initiative leaders, managers, and clients
  • Strong client presence and ability to relate to varied company and personality types
  • Ability to represent Gartner research, methodologies, and strategies to Board, C-Level, Business Unit, and Operational audiences
  • Ability to engage with end users, investors, technology and service providers, resellers, and channel partners
