About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create innovative, thought-provoking, high-leverage must-have insights content
- Develop new insights, ideas, and actionable approaches to client needs
- Analyze client barriers and needs to drive strategy forward
- Establish Insights positions across a team of analysts
- Bring independent insights to Gartner leaders and influence research agendas
- Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts
- Provide actionable advice to clients and prospects through virtual and face-to-face interactions
- Create and deliver presentations for Gartner events, conferences, and client briefings
- Support BTI and Sales as the voice of the market
- Provide timely content peer review
- Build credibility as an industry expert representing Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy
- Participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions
- Collaborate with peers in the Insights community
- Identify research process improvements and develop new processes
- Mentor and coach junior team members
- Help clients engage regularly with Gartner insights and interactions
- Research the impact of embedded AI, generative AI, and AI agents on SAP ERP architecture, development, integration, data, security, controls, and operating models
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
- 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience
- Familiarity with architectural, security, data, and governance implications of integrating AI and autonomous agents with SAP transactions and processes
- Significant experience designing, implementing, modernizing, or governing complex SAP ERP environments
- Experience as an SAP technical architect, solution architect, enterprise architect, integration architect, BTP architect, or senior SAP engineering professional preferred
- Understanding of SAP extensibility and clean-core principles
- Experience integrating SAP with cloud platforms, data platforms, AI services, SaaS applications, and non-SAP enterprise systems
- Ability to evaluate SAP AI capabilities against hyperscaler, open ecosystem, and third-party alternatives
- Strong understanding of identity, security, privacy, access control, segregation of duties, auditability, and governance in SAP environments
- Understanding of enterprise AI architecture, including large language models, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, grounding, prompt management, model orchestration, AI agents, and model lifecycle management
- Executive presence and ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Excellence in research and writing
- Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data
- Strong communication skills
- Subject matter expertise and comfort presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a multicultural global team
- Ability to navigate highly matrixed environments
