Create innovative, thought-provoking, client-facing research content with must-have insights
Develop thought leadership, actionable approaches, and new insights for client needs
Analyze client barriers and needs to identify root causes and drive strategy
Establish distinctive insights and strong positions across a team of analysts
Bring independent, fact-based insights to content leaders and research agendas
Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts
Provide actionable advice to clients and prospects through virtual or in-person interactions
Create and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events, conferences, and client briefings
Support BTI research and Sales by providing market perspective and driving client engagement
Conduct timely peer reviews of analyst content
Build credibility as an industry expert representing Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy
Participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions
Collaborate with peers in the Insights community
Identify research process improvements and develop new processes for service delivery
Help clients engage regularly with Gartner insights and interactions
Learn new procurement-related topics to stay ahead of client, market, and technology changes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
8+ years of relevant field or industry experience
Demonstrated executive presence and ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders
Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
Excellent research and writing ability
Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data, detecting patterns, applying frameworks, and defending conclusions
Strong written proficiency and ability to articulate distinctive positions
Strong verbal proficiency and presentation skills
Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts concisely
Subject matter expertise in IT procurement
Comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements
Strong business and financial acumen
Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area
Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a multicultural global team
Learning agility and ability to navigate complex, matrixed environments
Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% where applicable
Demonstrated experience implementing effective IT procurement strategies related to people, process, and technology solutions
Proven track record using AI solutions to implement IT procurement programs, frameworks, methodologies, and governance structures
Experience buying AI and other advanced technology solutions
Familiarity with P2P, CLM, and other procurement-related technology solutions
Experience managing technology vendors
Deep understanding of effective IT procurement strategies, category management, vendor/supplier relationship management, and IT vendor/supplier risk
Knowledge of influencing skills, change management, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration in IT procurement transformation
