Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create must-have insights for clients through published research and client interaction
  • Meet clients by phone, videoconference, Gartner events, and sales support visits
  • Equip semiconductor memory industry leaders with insights, advice, and tools
  • Own the quantitative view of global DRAM, HBM, and NAND Flash markets
  • Convert supply, demand, pricing, and technology signals into market intelligence
  • Develop and maintain global DRAM, HBM, and NAND supply-demand forecasts
  • Track supplier capacity, capital expenditure, technology transitions, and competitive positioning
  • Forecast market size, revenue, units/bits, ASPs, and supplier market share
  • Quantify demand across AI/data centers, enterprise storage, PCs, smartphones, automotive, and other applications
  • Track DRAM technology transitions, capacity allocation, and HBM production economics
  • Track NAND transitions, layer scaling, TLC/QLC mix, SSD adoption, and embedded/mobile applications
  • Analyze memory cycles, inventory corrections, pricing inflections, and structural supply-demand changes
  • Maintain quarterly market trackers, forecast models, source databases, and scenario analysis
  • Provide evidence-based written responses and support VP/market-intelligence-level client conversations
  • Partner with analysts covering AI accelerators, foundry, advanced packaging, and storage
  • Identify early indicators that could invalidate forecasts and proactively revise assumptions and outlooks
  • Participate in Gartner global research communities for knowledge sharing
  • Represent Gartner research, methodology, and strategies to varied client organization types and seniority levels

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BE/BTech from Grade A engineering colleges with specialization in Electronics, Semiconductors, or software engineering
  • Graduate + MBA (Marketing or Ops) from leading A & B-schools is desirable
  • 7-10+ years minimum experience in semiconductor memory, market intelligence, product planning, business planning, forecasting, or industry research
  • Deep expertise in DRAM and/or NAND Flash, with ability to develop credible coverage across both
  • Strong understanding of memory manufacturing economics, technology migration, supplier capacity, and pricing cycles
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain quantitative market models and forecasts
  • Experience with memory suppliers, semiconductor market-research firms, OEMs/hyperscalers, or relevant supply-chain organizations preferred
  • Ability to design, develop, and maintain large Excel models for market share analysis and forecasting
  • Strong working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
  • Project management skills and ability to deliver client deliverables on schedule
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, estimation, and original-analysis capabilities
  • Ability to communicate and build professional relationships with analysts, initiative leaders, team managers, and clients
  • Strong client presence and ability to represent Gartner research at Board, C-Level, Business Unit, and Operational levels
  • Ability to organize effectively, drive results, collaborate productively, coach and develop colleagues, and give and receive constructive feedback
  • Professional maturity, intellectual curiosity, integrity, adaptability, and adherence to internal processes and policies
  • Knowledge of DRAM/HBM wafer capacity, utilization, bit output, bit growth, die density, technology nodes, HBM stacks, DDR/LPDDR/HBM mix, pricing, revenue, ASP, and AI-server memory demand
  • Knowledge of NAND Flash wafer capacity, bits/wafer, layer transitions, TLC/QLC mix, supply and demand, pricing, revenue, SSDs, mobile/embedded NAND, and AI-storage demand
  • Confident presentation skills and executive presence
