About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own assigned operational processes end to end, keeping them current, consistent, and aligned
Build, document, and maintain operational workflows, including process maps, SOPs, RACI charts, and team handoffs
Create and maintain standard templates for processes, SOPs, work instructions, and change requests
Run quality gates and approvals for new and changed processes
Partner with stakeholders to scope, design, and launch new processes as operations and markets grow
Hold regular process reviews to audit processes, identify gaps or drift, and drive updates
Collaborate with subject matter experts to capture expertise, validate process design, and secure adoption
Apply lean tools including value stream mapping, waste elimination, standard work, and root cause analysis
Own version control and change management for process updates, coordinating with Training before rollout
Gather field feedback and turn it into targeted process improvements
Report to the Sr. Manager, Operational Excellence
Partner with Operations, Fleet Maintenance, Safety, Training, and Engineering

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience in process engineering, operational excellence, quality, program management, or business process management
Experience owning and maintaining processes across several teams or workstreams
Experience designing workflows, writing SOPs, and building documentation templates
Experience running process review or approval mechanisms
Working knowledge of lean principles and tools
Strong ability to work with subject matter experts and turn complex operational knowledge into clear, usable processes
Proficiency with process mapping and documentation tools such as Lucidchart, Visio, Miro, or Confluence
Experience in autonomous vehicles, trucking, logistics, fleet maintenance, or other safety-critical operations
Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt, or equivalent lean training
Experience with quality management systems or frameworks such as ISO 9001
Experience in a startup or high-growth environment where processes were still being defined
Familiarity with change management methodologies such as Prosci or ADKAR
Experience with workflow tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Smartsheet
