About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support live client environments for GBST's wealth management platforms
- Investigate and resolve complex production incidents across client environments
- Perform root cause analysis and provide detailed technical findings to development teams
- Analyse application, infrastructure and integration logs to identify system issues and performance bottlenecks
- Support software deployments, upgrades and client testing activities, including UAT
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts and client stakeholders to deliver timely solutions
- Contribute to improvements in system reliability, monitoring and support processes
- Participate in incident response and out-of-hours support activities when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Relevant technical qualification ideally held
- Experience supporting business-critical applications within a production support, application support or software engineering environment
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Experience working with Java-based enterprise applications
- Strong SQL skills, including data analysis, reporting and data correction scripting
- Experience reviewing application logs and diagnosing application or integration issues
- Understanding of APIs, web services and system integrations
- Experience working with cloud-based environments, preferably AWS
- Excellent communication skills and experience working directly with clients and stakeholders
- Experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda and AWS MQ is highly regarded
- Experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot and Hibernate is highly regarded
- Experience with SOAP and REST web services using XML and JSON is highly regarded
- Experience with JBoss and WebSphere application servers is highly regarded
- Experience with SQL Server and stored procedures is highly regarded
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is highly regarded
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is highly regarded
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) is highly regarded
- Experience with CloudWatch, Grafana and Prometheus is highly regarded
- Experience with RabbitMQ and AMQP is highly regarded
- Knowledge of FIX protocol and financial markets or trading platforms is highly regarded
