About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver assigned product changes to EMEA clients, including major client-led projects/programmes, small client enhancements, product upgrades and internal strategic change
  • Develop understanding of clients’ businesses, infrastructure, contacts, approval points, decision-making and change delivery processes
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across client project teams and GBST
  • Lead as the key contact for clients and GBST for assigned EMEA change delivery
  • Own delivery, reporting and adherence to contractual commitments
  • Attend, chair and contribute to internal and client project meetings
  • Author and present project documentation and reporting
  • Negotiate Statements of Work and change requests
  • Create project plans, system implementation plans, tasks, dependencies and accountabilities
  • Manage projects within agreed budgets, scope, schedules, methodologies and procedures
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, risks, issues, progress reporting and budget tracking
  • Manage project teams and assess resource needs
  • Monitor project costs, quality, status, invoices and financial reporting
  • Report project status to clients, senior management, project teams and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with GBST’s Quality Management System
  • Support continuous improvement of change-management processes, methodologies and tools
  • Manage team morale and address resource effectiveness and development needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the IT industry delivering large scale projects, ideally from a Software Vendor perspective
  • Knowledge of infrastructure or hosting services
  • Sound understanding of release management, including branching, versioning and patching
  • Sound understanding and application of Project Management competencies including scope, time, costs, quality, HR, communications, risk, procurement and integration
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of applications development methodologies and the software development lifecycle
  • Effective leadership, coordination, motivational, negotiation and dispute resolution skills
  • Ability to apply analytical skills and conceptual thinking to operations and system planning across a range of technologies
  • Financial literacy to forecast and manage project budgets
  • Experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Ability to influence and build productive relationships with industry providers and stakeholders and able to be assertive with clients, whilst maintaining a strong relationship
  • Working within a vendor environment will be highly regarded
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement coupled with the ability to manage client expectations from the outset
  • Demonstrated experience in administration in areas of documentation and reporting
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Able to work toward tight deadlines and in pressure situations whilst maintaining a clear thought process
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing complex development and implementation projects involving software solutions
