About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Respond to service calls for customers' basic biomedical equipment
  • Evaluate, diagnose, repair, and perform planned maintenance and safety/environmental inspections
  • Assist experienced technicians with basic and complex repairs/resolution
  • Communicate and partner effectively with teammates and colleagues
  • Follow GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and complete required documentation
  • Maintain daily customer communications to ensure resolution, follow-up, and customer satisfaction
  • Implement GE/customer facility contracts and support business goals as instructed
  • Provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within the assigned area as part of the local team
  • Share on-call responsibility when trained
  • Document repair actions and submit reports/summaries on schedule
  • Care for and maintain spares, tools, and test equipment, including calibration
  • Maintain technical knowledge of current medical-equipment standards, codes, and procedures through formal instruction
  • Use manuals, technical support, FaceTime, and online resources to answer questions during planned maintenance
  • Meet Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety, and other applicable regulatory requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment
  • Analytical and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues to customers in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Willingness to be available "after hours" or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, as necessary
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods
  • Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and use good hand and finger dexterity
  • Required vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
  • Willingness to work onsite in the Appleton, Wisconsin area
