About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Respond to service calls within a hospital or healthcare system in Spartanburg, SC
- Evaluate, diagnose, and repair biomedical equipment
- Perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and environmental inspections
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Document all work performed
- Maintain strong customer relationships and frequent communications to ensure resolution and follow-up
- Care for tools and test equipment to maintain calibration and support timely, accurate repairs
- Identify and immediately report customer quality or compliance concerns to the Quality Organization
- Work five 8-hour shifts in the Spartanburg, SC service region
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship, Apprenticeship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum 2 years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment
- Knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical devices
- Experience interpreting schematic diagrams
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
- GE HealthCare will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future
- Ability to be available after-hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends
- Ability to lift and move up to 35 lbs
