About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Respond to service calls and evaluate, diagnose, repair, and perform planned maintenance on biomedical equipment
  • Drive customer satisfaction through Service Excellence
  • Evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs under supervision
  • Perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and environmental inspections
  • Maintain daily customer communications to ensure resolution and follow-up
  • Implement GE/customer facility contracts as instructed
  • Assist experienced technicians with progressive repairs and issue resolution
  • Provide efficient service delivery to accounts within the assigned area as part of the local team
  • Document repair actions and submit reports and summaries on schedule
  • Maintain approved parts inventory
  • Manage vendor service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies
  • Care for and maintain spares, tools, and test equipment, including calibration
  • Maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures for safe and effective medical equipment use
  • Meet Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety requirements
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to multiple hospitals across El Paso and southern New Mexico
  • Identify and immediately report customer quality or compliance concerns to the Quality Organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate from an A.S., B.S., M.S., diploma, or directly related certificate in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Imaging Technology, Mechanical Principles, or similar degree program, or equivalent DOD military education; or be a current student within 12 months of an A.S., B.S., or M.S.
  • Alternatively, graduate from an A.S., B.S., or M.S. degree program and have 1+ year of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Previous experience and/or coursework interpreting schematic diagrams and performing troubleshooting and planned maintenance on basic diagnostic imaging or electronic equipment
  • Ability to maintain the health and status of encompass
  • Ability to develop and maintain good customer relationships
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods
  • Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
  • Required color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision abilities
  • Complete planned Quality and Compliance training within defined deadlines
  • Comply with GEHC quality policies, procedures, goals, laws, and regulations
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not provided
