About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of X-ray systems across the Midlands, with flexibility to support wider UK requirements
- Diagnose and resolve complex system-level faults across multi-technology platforms
- Build relationships with healthcare professionals to ensure equipment uptime and customer satisfaction
- Provide remote diagnostics and support from a home office
- Collaborate with engineering teams, service centres, and commercial functions
- Manage tools, spare parts, and travel logistics
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time
- Support overtime, short-notice callouts, and weekend shifts
Requirements
What you’ll need- HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Field service experience; medical imaging experience advantageous but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently
- Experience with remote connectivity tools and diagnostics
- Good IT skills, including software installation, virtual machines, and troubleshooting
- Full UK driving licence
- Fluent in English
- Flexibility to support overtime, short-notice callouts, and compulsory weekend shifts (1 in every 4 weekends)
- Willingness to travel approximately 35–40% of the time, including occasional overnight stays
- Willingness to attend international training courses as required
- Experience with additional medical imaging modalities is desirable
- Knowledge of DICOM and IT/network troubleshooting is desirable
- Familiarity with CRM systems is desirable
- Project management experience is desirable
