About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform on-time and accurate preventative maintenance, Field Modification Instructions (FMIs), and/or Instrument Service Information bulletins (ISIs)
  • Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs independently on assigned equipment
  • Support more experienced field engineers onsite and remotely with installations while learning complex repairs
  • Assist with equipment installation and basic troubleshooting and service repairs
  • Communicate with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up
  • Recommend value-added services that help customers operate their businesses efficiently
  • Maintain customer service logs and internal service records; order repair parts and manage cycle times
  • Use the GEHC escalation process and collaborate with regional and national support to implement corrective action plans
  • Serve as a member of the account community for key accounts
  • Engage commercial counterparts, identify sales leads, participate in sales opportunities, and assist with revenue programs
  • Build and enhance customer relationships and drive customer satisfaction through Service Excellence
  • Monitor competitor information and market trends
  • Work in the Long Island, New York service region supporting Ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MR, and/or Nuclear Medicine equipment
  • Work five 8-hour shifts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship, Apprenticeship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum 2 years of experience servicing electronic equipment
  • Experience with web applications and Microsoft suite of products
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to be available after hours or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, as necessary
  • Ability to work 2nd shift as business dictates
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% out of state for training and business needs
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods
  • Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
  • Color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception vision abilities
  • Answer service calls independently without assistance within one year of employment
  • Desired: Experience servicing medical equipment
  • Desired: Experience with electrical systems and/or AC/DC currents
