About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create software products with cross-functional teams under approved architecture and product roadmaps
- Own features end to end, from user interfaces through backend services, APIs, and persistence
- Build responsive and accessible user interfaces with modern JavaScript frameworks in partnership with UX
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated test suites, monitoring, and observability
- Participate in software design reviews and conduct peer code reviews
- Apply software engineering best practices to team deliverables
- Serve as Product Security Representative for the Tech Hub
- Ensure Secure Development Lifecycle requirements, security controls, evidence, and documentation are complete before releases
- Coordinate security reviews, threat modeling, risk assessments, penetration testing, security scans, and SBOM generation
- Track vulnerability remediation, security findings, compliance gaps, security metrics, remediation SLAs, and compliance status
- Partner with engineering teams on secure coding and dependency management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
- 4+ years of professional software development experience across the stack, including front end engineering and modern design principles
- 1+ year of experience building scalable, distributed systems using AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerized deployments such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Strong experience with Angular, React, Vue, or another modern front-end framework
- Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Strong experience with Java and a modern Java microservice framework such as Quarkus or Spring Boot
- Experience with JPA such as Hibernate or an equivalent backend stack
- Experience using AI tools to enhance engineering workflows, optimize compliance checks, or assist in documentation generation
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- No employment visa sponsorship available
- Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (desired)
- 6+ years of professional software development experience (desired)
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems, AWS, relational and NoSQL data stores, big data systems, analytics, containerized microservices, serverless functions, event-driven architecture, infrastructure-as-code, GitLab CI/CD, production deployments, WCAG 2.x, internationalized interfaces, software architecture, Agile development, public cloud and on-premises infrastructure, regulated or safety-critical environments, design controls, traceability, audit readiness, release governance, secure coding, SAST/DAST, software composition analysis, secrets management, SDL, security reviews, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and compliance activities (desired)
