About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Observe and perform equipment service processes and procedures for less complex customer diagnostic imaging equipment
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues in hospital radiology environments and implement appropriate repairs
  • Complete preventative maintenance on designated equipment
  • Perform safety and environmental inspections in compliance with Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety guidelines
  • Complete service and repair documentation following hospital protocol and GEHC policies and procedures
  • Maintain daily customer communications to ensure resolution and follow-up
  • Learn proper care and calibration of tools and test equipment
  • Maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures for safe medical equipment use
  • Mentor with and assist experienced technicians on progressive repairs and issue resolution
  • Work with the local team to provide efficient service delivery to assigned accounts
  • Complete planned Quality and Compliance training within defined deadlines
  • Identify and immediately report customer quality or compliance concerns to the Quality Organization
  • Complete the one-year apprenticeship with potential conversion to a full-time internal position based on performance, business need, and role availability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • AS, BS, MS degree, military education, certificate program, current student with less than 12 months from completion OR High School Diploma/GED with 6 months experience servicing electronic, IT or mechanical equipment
  • Previous experience and/or coursework successfully interpreting schematic diagrams and performing troubleshooting and planned maintenance on basic diagnostic imaging or electronic equipment
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 35 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex and extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Must successfully complete GE HealthCare background checks, post-offer drug testing, ongoing customer access requirements, required immunizations, additional drug tests/background checks, and site-specific compliance protocols
